First off let me say just how proud I am of our team. That was an excellent display of unity, skill and spirit. I would like to break down my individual notes and share with you.
GiGi - Many probably though I was playing when I explained how intense and fierce her defense is. She may be quiet and reserved in practice but becomes an animal on game day. This was the reason I re-drafted her with my draft pick. Her prowess gets us many possessions and alters the games landscape. She truly took the guards by surprise this last game.
Dominic - Despite being the smallest on our team, Dominic showed me his capability of understanding defense. He held his own against the bigger kids. The little warrior was fast on his feet and did what was needed. I couldn't have asked or expected for anything more. Great job!
Donovan - I'm really happy Donovan put himself right in the mix, battling for rebounds, and playing good defense. He is sure to become an integral part of this team.
Jonathan - Calm and smooth. He came through on some clutch plays. Making the wise decisions with effortless confidence. A perfect fit for our big guys down low.
Andy - Hobbled with a severe ankle sprain a week before our first game, Andy took the court and handled a good portion of the point guard duties. His passing was on target. His wing to wing defense with the back up of GiGi and Dominic resulted in many errant passes by the other team to which our big guys can get out of the air.
Bennett - Brilliant! Bennett understands the game so well that it is sure to rub off on everyone else and make us all better players. His shot selection was perfect.
Andre - Size, quickness and shooting ability is why Andre is a force to be reckoned with. He simply dominated.
Kyle - A rebounding machine!!! Not many have noticed but Kyle had 16 rebounds during the game. Incredible.
Brian - I am especially proud of Brian. He played every position during the game. He went out, followed instruction and was an absolute joy to see the potential he has in all facets of the game.
All in all, we have a really GOOD team. I am excited to see where we can go with this group.
